With so many wedding reception places to choose from, what should you be looking at? Do you want a big banquet hall, a fire hall rental, or maybe a yacht club for your reception? Here are a few pointers to help guide you into making the best selection for your wedding needs.

You'll want to look at things such as size, distance and time. Let's look at each one a little more in depth.

Size: How many people will be coming to the wedding? People will enjoy themselves more if they aren't cramped. Let's face it, we all like a little bit of personal space. If you're going to need to cram a lot of people in a small space, it will not be as enjoyable. Just because they say they can accommodate 300 people, doesn't mean it will comfortably do it. What about climate control? If it's indoors and it's a hot summer day, you want the air conditioner to be able to cool the place down! On the other hand, you don't want your guests freezing, if they're wearing strapless dresses, and it the air conditioning is out of control and downright freezing!

Distance: A key factor is choosing a wedding reception place that is within a 15-20 minute drive. When it's much farther, people tend to stray. Another option is to offer transportation from the wedding site to the reception hall.

Time: Are weddings booked back to back? What type of time do you have? If you have to hurry to get there or leave, because of another party right before or right after, it can put a damper on your day. While many places book more than one event, they should allow a big enough gap so that nobody is rushed out, or you won't be walking in while the previous wedding party is straggling. If you need a gap or break between the time of the wedding or reception, set up a meet and greet before hand, so people will be more relaxed.

With so many beach wedding reception places to choose from, taking the time to find one that suits your needs will make your special day go that much smoother.
