Special Needs:
Beachwheels Program

Beachwheels Program: Long Beach Township

Long Beach Township Beach Patrol started a wonderful program that allows beach access to anyone. If you're living in the township, or visiting, they can help you out.

The Beachwheels program has special wheelchairs made from PVC tubing with special wheels. These special Beachwheels and Surf Chairs* make ease of the rough landscape! If you're staying in Long Beach Township, these chairs are free to reserve. Unfortunately, if you're staying in a hotel, they may not be available to you, unless certain security measures are taken. The chairs must also stay within the township borders.

With 30 chairs available: 25 for adults, and 5 for children, there are plenty to go around. They have one permanently adult version of the Beachwheels chair at the Bayview Park area. The chairs are available for a week long reservation. They also have a special chair that's been outfitted for fishing!

These chairs will be delivered to your residence! You don't have to pick it up. They also will pick it up at the end of the week (Saturday).

This generous program is funded through local businesses, organizations, and from contributions made throughout LBI , Long Long Beach Township, and Southern Ocean County.
