Long Beach Island Restaurants

Google

With Long Beach Island restaurants, there are so many great options, sometimes it can be hard to choose which to go to first. A great source of information on different restaurants and nightclubs is the little local paper called The Islander. Pick up this and the free Sand Paper as well, and page through to find exactly what you're looking for, or maybe something you hadn't thought of!

Being a shore town, most places are open for the season, while a handful stay open year round. Also what was once there one year, may be gone the following. Here you can find a list of Long Beach Island restaurants based on the area you'll be staying in.

You'll find LBI Nightlife and music entertainment here.

Family Favorites:

If it's breakfast you're looking for, you can't go wrong with Uncle Will's Pancake House in Beach Haven. They are a must visit place, and the earlier the better. In the busier times of the year, you just may need to get on a waiting list, because everyone knows the food's great here! Another favorite for pancakes is Jayson's Pancake House in Ship Bottom.

LBI Pancake House and Captain John's make for a filling and inexpensive meal. Lastly, I can't not mention ScoJo's for breakfast in Surf City- delicious. Mustache Bills in Barnegat Light was recently featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-In's and Dives"!

Looking for Long Beach Island restaurants for lunch? When it's lunch time, there are three favorites in our family. Panzones in Beach Haven and Buckalews for great sandwiches, and Dom's Drive-In for an awesome chili cheese dog!

Panzones has everything from pizza to pasta to sandwiches. My favorite is the veal parm sandwich, along with their turkey wrap. My husband is fond of their hoagies, and my boys love their burgers. Their pizza is top notch as well. With both inside and outside dining, it's a crowd favorite. We love their convenient take-out too!

Buckalews is open year round, and we just were in there this past weekend! You can't go wrong with their chargrilled burgers or cheese steak. My husband is a big fan of the She Crab soup. This is a tavern, but also offers dining and seating in non-bar areas. When I think back to the changes in Buckalews over the years, it's so much fun to watch this place change. I used to go here as a child long before the porch dining was open. We'd sit in the back corner and get pizza and meatball sandwiches- great memories.

When dinner time rolls around, we love to visit The Marlin, Tuckers and the Spray Beach Inn's restaurant. Fresh food, excellent service and something for everyone. Tucker's offers both indoor and outdoor dining, along with a bar area. I've had surf and turf here that's out of this world. My husband loves their pasta with seafood combinations.

Marlin, Beach Haven

The Marlin has become a newer favorite of ours. Each time we go, we're thrilled with the great service, and the food is just fabulous. I had a pasta dish with shrimp, scallops and lobster in a Parmesan sauce that I think I thought about for a week straight after eating it! It was a special one night, and I only hope it makes it to the regular menu at some point! Everything we've eaten here has left us pleased.

Spray Beach Inn offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoy all their food, and last year enjoyed a night out with a larger party. They easily accommodated us, and all 8 of us (ranging from 13-43) left raving about the food. That says something when your kids leave as happy as you do.

There's no one best place to eat, I can only tell you about the restaurants that we frequent because they've left us smiling time and time again. My son loves the fried shrimp and New England chowder at The Gazebo in Bay Village. He's a picky eater, so that says a lot to me!

A New Favorite LBI restaurant

A new entry to our family favorites would have to be the Dark Star Cafe in Ship Bottom. Everything is homemade, fresh and delicious. Their sandwiches are so good, I had to go to them two days in a row! They offer Mojo to Go, and the food is fantastic!

Hopefully this gives you a place to start. Don't forget to check out the full list of Long Beach Island restaurants, but also be aware that some restaurants change hands and names, and it may not be the absolute list. Remember to grab a Sand Paper or Islander paper to find some great places to dine, like Bayberry Inn, Stefanos, Raimondos or others.
