If you're heart is set on a traditional gown, then go for the traditional gown. Two things you'll want to keep in mind is that a long train will be going over the sand. You may want somebody to carry the train if this bothers you. Another thing to consider is your veil. It can get gusty near the sea, so a light material like a veil may get blown around a bit. These little tips will help you in choosing the right dress for your special occasion.

A simple white gown with less detail may be the right choose if you'll marry directly on the beach. If you'd like an elaborate gown, maybe consider marrying in a chapel, and then having pictures taken at the beach.

Let me share a phenomenal experience with you. My husband and I were staying for a long weekend at one of the local beachfront hotels on Long Beach Island. We saw that a beach wedding was being set up, and it appeared most the people were staying at the same hotel we were. Right about 4pm, their wedding started on the beach. Soon we heard a bagpiper, and exactly one street over, a wedding party was walking from a chapel down to the beach to have photos taken. Here we were, watching from the balcony of the hotel, on either side of us was a wedding party. one was on 23rd street, while the other was on 24th street section of the beach! There was love in the air, and we watched two beautiful brides as they enjoyed their day. One wore a traditional gown, the one walking from the chapel, the other wore a very simple and beautiful gown. There we were, watching two New Jersey shore wedding parties at once!

What time of the day will you marry? Will it be hot, cool, what if it rains, what are your backup plans? These are all things to consider when thinking about your perfect gown.
