Before I jump into that, I have to share some exciting news with you. Mustache Bill's of Barnegat Light got quite an honor bestowed on them. They were named an "American Classic" and won an award...and this was a rare one! This was the first time a diner has won the award in the 11 years it's been given out! CONGRATULATIONS!

..."the foundation named the diner as a winner of its prestigious "America's Classics" award, given to iconic "down-home eateries" around the country "that have carved out a special place on the American culinary landscape." It's the first diner so honored in the 11-year history of the awards."

The 3rd Annual LBI Surf Bass Tournament kicks off tomorrow May 2nd and runs through June 28th. There's money to be won, so be sure to register at one of the participating tackle shops: Jingles Bait & Tackle (Beach Haven), Surf City Bait & Tackle (Surf City), Fisherman's Headquarters (Ship Bottom) or Barnegat Light Bait & Tackle (Barnegat Light).

This is cool...the first ever "Lighthouse International Film Festival" is coming to our very own Long Beach Island in June.

Here’s what it's all about: "...dedicated to showcasing new and innovative films and fostering the next generation of filmmakers"...Between Thursday June 4 and Sunday June 7, the island will be turned into a filmgoer's paradise, with feature films being showcased at venues throughout the Island."

Exciting stuff, right? This prestigious event will be coming to Long Beach Island from June 4th through June 7th. If this is an event you’d like to know more about, be sure to read the press release here...

Wait!! There's even more...June is a busy month.

The Jersey Shore Fine Arts Festival will take place June 13th and 14th. This event takes place in Ship Bottom on Ethel Jacobson Field. Come out and meet the artists, and select fine art for your home. This is going to be a massive, one of a kind event you won’t want to miss!

Grab your Skim Boards, because there's a Skim Boarding contest June 20-21st! The event takes place in Barnegat Light at the beach on 9th street. (Time: 8am-5pm)...this is going to be a cool event you'll want to watch or even participate in!

Both professionals and amateurs are welcome. On a side note, if you'll be attending be sure you have your Beach Badge with you. If you would like more information about this event, you can contact the Freedom Surf Shop or the Surf Shack for more details.
