Long Beach Island Summers Newsletter -- June 2009
May 30, 2009
Greetings!

On some mail servers, you may need to expand the message. Included this month: Film Festival, Art Festival, Restaurant Week, and an Eco Tour

June is a beautiful month. It offers warmth and sunshine. Kids are finishing up school and excited for summer vacations. Do you have plans?

I spent a week in Brant Beach during May and it was fabulous. We made the rounds and ate at some of our favorite restaurants, along with enjoying the shops and of course the great scenery that LBI offers. We had incredible views of the ocean which made me just giddy with delight.

June offers a lot of variety and I can't wait to tell you all about it. First let's talk about the Jersey Shore Fine Arts Festival. This event takes place June 13th and 14th over at the Ethel Jacobsen Field in Ship Bottom. This is a great way to see and get some great artwork.

On that very same weekend, you can check out the Eco Tour. Be sure to head to the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences.

While we're discussing this full weekend, I want to mention you can also check out the Jazzy Scallop Festival at Viking Village on June 13th in the evening.

Have you heard about Restaurant Week yet? This Restaurant Preview is something special! From June 10th through June 12, participating restaurants will be offering a very unique dining experience for you! Here's the scoop, the pricing ranges from $20-$35, and includes a three course dinner. You can learn more about this at visitLBIregion.com.

You can catch "Ragtime" at the Surflight Theatre during the month of June. On the Children's Stage they'll be entertaining with "Snow White". If you'd prefer to see a concert, then check out Mickey Rooney or the Suflight Alumni on stage. You can see their full schedule at www.Surflight.org

Reminder: The "Lighthouse International Film Festival" is coming - June 4-7

Here’s what it's all about: "...dedicated to showcasing new and innovative films and fostering the next generation of filmmakers"...Between Thursday June 4 and Sunday June 7, the island will be turned into a filmgoer's paradise, with feature films being showcased at venues throughout the Island."
