Long Beach Island Summers Newsletter -- July 2009 July 03, 2009 |
| Greetings! On some mail servers, you may need to expand the message. Included this month: sweet stuff, a museum, and some fun for the kids!
June was a wet month, but hopefully July will offer us more sunshine! Let's take a look at some fun things to do this month. Sweet treats are always a fun part of summer. A gooey sundae over at Meltdown is a great way to top off a hot summer day! ![]() I'll be telling you about Thundering Surf Water Park shortly, but while you're over near Bay Village, be sure to stop in Country Kettle Fudge and get something sweet. My favorite is Peanut Butter fudge...mmmm, mmmm, good! If you haven't stopped by and enjoyed The Showplace, it's truly a unique experience you won't want to miss. It's attached to the Surflight Theater. Make sure to get there early, because there's always a line. You'll enjoy a delicious dessert with some extra fun! This entertaining experience combines a great treat with a singing and entertaining waitstaff! This is a perfect family fun place no matter how young or old you are. ![]() Looking for a splashing good time? Why not give Thundering Surf Water Park a go. They offer 6 slides, along with a lazy river, an interactive area for smaller kids, along with a sundeck for parents. Kids love water parks, and Long Beach Island has its very own right in the heart of Beach Haven. You'll find it next to Bay Village at 806 N Bay Avenue. **For some of the old timers reading this....who have been going to LBI for years and years - how many of you remember "the big slide"? Yeah - good memories! Have you checked out the Maritime Museum yet? This is a great way to enjoy a budget friendly activity, as it offers free admission, and is open all year. Learn about NJ's maritime history. You'll find it at Dock Road and West Avenue in Beach Haven. Here's hoping for plenty of sunshine, lots of laughter and extra quality time with the family! See you next month.
