| Greetings! On some mail servers, you may need to expand the message. Included this month: Chocolate Week, Surflight Theatre, a children's fishing class, and a Clam Chowder Recipe. Have you made plans for Valentine's Day yet? If not, there's still time to book a room and enjoy the weekend on Long Beach Island. Don't forget all the extra deals going on for Chocolate Week.
![]() The Surflight Theatre is a great place to enjoy Valentine's weekend. They'll be hosting a "Trio of Tenors Valentine Concert" on February 15th. For full information, visit www.Surflight.org I've seen their 2009 schedule and it's great! Not only do they offer big name shows like "Hairspray" and "Little Shop of Horrors", they're also hosting entertainment like the Platters and Coasters, the comedy of Walt Willey (All My Children fans know him as Jackson Montgomery), and even Mickey Rooney. Another special highlight is the Children's Theatre which is offering popular shows like "The Wizard of Oz", "Peter Pan" and "Snow White".
![]() Speaking of children, did you know Oceanside Bait and Tackle has a children's fishing clinic 2 times a week during the summer? This is a great way to get your child involved in fishing! Not only do they learn about fishing, bait and crabbing, but they also get a gift bag of tackle and a certificate when they finish. At only $25.00 for a 2 hour class, this is a great opportunity for your child. Classes start June 15th. If you'd like more information, you can contact Oceanside Bait and Tackle at 609-361-9800. ![]() Been craving some delicious Clam Chowder? Here's a quick and easy recipe you can make at home to hold you over, until you get back to Long Beach Island. Clam Chowder 2 slices bacon First you want to crisp your bacon in a pan and chop it up. When it's getting crispy, add your onion to the pan and saute the two ingredients. Next you'll be adding your potatoes, water, and a little salt and pepper. Continue to cook over medium heat (10 minutes) Chop up your clams into smaller pieces, and add them to the mixture. Before adding them, be sure to drain the liquid into a separate container. Now that your clams are in, you'll add your milk, butter, and the clam juice you set aside earlier. You want to continually heat this for another 10 minutes so it's heated through out. Keep it on medium heat, as you don't want to bring it to a boil.
It's been fun! Don't forget St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner. Make sure to add Long Beach Island into your plans. Kindly, |
