Greetings!

Welcome to our first issue of Long Beach Island Summers ezine/newsletter.

During the coming months, I'm looking forward to sharing news, showing you little known spots you may not have known about, along with highlighting different shops, restaurants and hotels.

I hope you'll stay with us, and enjoy a monthly mailing on "All Things LBI!"

Did you hear the news? The Barnegat Lighhouse is about to be relit! It will be relit on it's 150th's birthday on January 1, 2009. It's an exciting time for all. In fact, on October 11th there a special "Barnegat Lighthouse Day" to celebrate the occasion. It was a well attended event enjoyed by all.

*Did you know? The Barnegat Lighthouse is open year round; on season and off season!

Not only is the lighthouse here, but there is a nice walking trail you can enjoy, picnic tables, and a pathway where you can enjoy watching boats coming and leaving the bay and the ocean. It's also a beautiful location to watch sunsets.

The Barnegat Lighthouse (Old Barney) sits on the north end of the island. There is not a lighthouse on the south end of the island.
